    They're a series focusing upon the Napoleonic wars and wars in India years prior to it. There are a few bits of artistic licence at times, especially with the characters themselves, but the technology attitudes and overall feel of the books is based off of what's known from history.

    Oh that sounds pretty good. I'm currently reading War and Peace so it would be a nice transition if and when I do finish it.
