Since Beta2 is our townbuilding push, I've been able to finalize our resources for the game. Here's a preview of the refinable resources :-)

Hum, a more complex resources processing tree! At first it looks great, but can you share the details regarding the general, town and vanity tags? Also, I have some experience in mechanical designer so, if you'll share more details I might be able to tweak/re-balance things if I will have some free time. I know there are threads regarding resources, crafting and many other aspects, but you know better than us that many things will change and I find it a bit hard to form a plan if there will be a lot of unknown variables. And, of course, the all asked question, any ETA for this update? Cheers and good luck! |

To expand on this a bit more, here's where each of the tracks will primarily be used:
There will be some overlap there, but those are the primary uses. Some resources tagged as Town or Vanity won't really have cross-usages. This plan is actually an old one I had to put down since I had to focus on the adventuring part of the game for a while. I'm back on townbuilding stuff and can finish these designs now :-) Luckily, we already knew we wanted to do this stuff, but just hadn't fleshed out the details, so all of the tech is there to support it. The final plan is for the raw resources to be scattered throughout the adventuring part of the game (similar to a standard MMO), where the player would go out to an island and gather raw ore directly from a mining node, and then bring it back to their home to refine into ingots/bars. Later on, the player can discover islands with large resource deposits that they can place a resource extractor near to auto-harvest resources for them until the resource node is depleted. For Beta2, the new resources will be in along with the resource nodes, but the large resource nodes will probably be pushed to Beta3. As for when all of this will be out, I'm hoping to have Beta2 ready in a few weeks *crosses fingers* |

When you said that resources will be scattered throughout the adventuring part like other MMOs, I hope you don't mean there will be a linear path, resources will require certain level of skill 'x', gather from nod 1, move to nod 2 and so on! I never liked those MMOs, really; "complex crafting system" = dull crafting system. But, if you know a little about EVE's crafting and resources/materials system and you'll aim at something similar to that, that will be great! Cheers and can't wait! That November roadmap is long overdue! :p |

EVE is actually one of the games that inspired a lot of our systems ;-) There are some features in Beta4 that I'll announce later that will REALLY remind you of EVE :-D
Also, for gathering a resource node, you can gather any resource at any skill level, but how much you get, and your chance for pulling in rare additional resources, will come down to your skill level. |

Really glad to hear both of the news! Good thing I'm very busy RL and time will pass pretty fast, I hope!
